JOB TITLE: RESEARCHER ASSISTANT

DESCRIPTION: Detail-oriented and proactive Research Assistant to support production teams by conducting thorough research and providing accurate, timely information for programming. This role is essential to the development and production process, contributing to story development, fact-checking, and editorial preparation.

PROJECT: Full-time/ Inhouse

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct in-depth research on topics, people, locations, and historical or current events for segments or episodes
2. Fact-check scripts, rundowns, and on-air content to ensure accuracy and credibility
3. Compile research briefs, background documents, timelines, and source lists for producers and writers
4. Assist with story development by identifying compelling angles, characters, and supporting materials
5. Coordinate with producers and editorial teams to clarify research needs and deadlines
6. Source archival footage, images, and supporting media when required
7. Maintain organized research databases and documentation
8. Support production teams during pre-production and, when needed, during live or taped productions

Qualifications:

1. Bachelors degree in Journalism, Communications, Film/TV, Political Science, History, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2. Strong research, writing, and fact-checking skills
3. Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise summaries
4. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
5. Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced production environment
6. Strong communication and collaboration skills
